The Rize Sidebar

How the Rize sidebar is organized -- Home, Track, Analyze, Work, and Admin -- and how to reorder, hide, and customize its items per workspace.

Open Rize and customize your sidebar.

How the Sidebar Is Organized

The sidebar groups every page in Rize into five sections, ordered roughly by how often you touch them: Home, Track, Analyze, Work, and Admin. Your teams sit below the sections, and the workspace switcher sits at the top.

  • Home -- the Agent, your chat with Rize about your own tracked time.
  • Track -- Calendar, My Timesheet, Timer, and Activity. The pages where time gets captured and lives day to day.
  • Analyze -- Time Entries, Reports, Profitability, Productivity, Insights, and Dashboards. Managers who review team timesheets also get a Timesheets item here.
  • Work -- Tasks, Projects, Clients, and Resourcing. The records your time attaches to.
  • Admin -- Teams, Members, Invoices, and Settings.

You will not necessarily see all of these. The sidebar is gated by role and plan: Profitability and Invoices only appear for accounts that can open them, the org-wide Timesheets view is a manager surface, and Admin items follow workspace permissions. A section with nothing you can open disappears entirely.

Customizing the Sidebar

You can reorder items and hide the ones you never open. Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar, or the help menu at the bottom, and choose Customize sidebar.

The dialog lists every section with its items in their current order:

  1. Drag an item to reorder it within its section.
  2. Toggle an item's visibility to hide or show it.
  3. Close the dialog. Changes apply immediately.

Two details worth knowing:

  • Configuration is saved per workspace. If you belong to more than one workspace, each keeps its own order and hidden items, so your agency workspace and your personal one can look nothing alike.
  • Hiding is not removing. A hidden page is still reachable by URL, from search, and from links elsewhere in the app. Hiding just clears it out of the sidebar.

Teams in the Sidebar

The teams you belong to are listed below the workspace sections. Each team expands into its own pages, timesheets, dashboards, and settings, scoped to that team's members. Which teams you see follows your membership, and what you can open inside one follows your role on it.

Collapsing and Moving Around

The sidebar collapses to icons when you want the screen for a timeline or report. Section groups become separators and every item keeps its icon, so muscle memory survives the collapse.

The Agent opens from anywhere with Cmd+J on macOS or Ctrl+J on Windows, without touching the sidebar at all.

Tips

  • Hide what your role makes redundant. An individual contributor who never opens Resourcing or Invoices can cut the sidebar to the six or seven pages that matter.
  • Put your daily page first. If you live in the Calendar, drag it to the top of Track. Order inside a section is yours to set.
  • Customize each workspace separately. A consultant in three client workspaces can tune each one to that engagement instead of carrying one layout everywhere.
