You can now organize your workspace by job title and department, then use those groups to explore your team's time. See how much time designers spend on a client, compare departments, or break down billable and non-billable hours by role.
Workspace admins manage titles and departments in Members → Departments. Each title can belong to a department, but the department is optional. Start with titles and add departments whenever you're ready.

Create departments
Create departments from the Departments card by entering their names.
- Open Members → Departments.
- Click New department on the Departments card.
- Enter a name, such as Creative or Engineering. Use Add row to create several departments at once.
- Click Create to save the departments.

Add titles with optional departments
Create titles from the Titles card, with an optional department for each title.
- Click New title.
- Enter a title name and choose a department, or leave No department selected.
- Use Add row to add more titles before saving.
- Click Create. You can change a title's name or department later with Edit title.

Assign titles to members
Assign a member's title from Edit member in the Members table.
In the General tab, choose a title and save your changes. You can search existing titles or type a new name to create one from the picker. The member's department comes from their title, so you don't need to assign it separately.
Job titles describe the work someone does. Workspace roles, such as Member and Admin, continue to control their access.

View time by title or department
Use title and department filters in the Time Entries dashboard to focus on the people behind the work.
- Open Time Entries and choose your team and date range.
- In the filters, open More and select Titles or Departments.
- Search for the groups you want to include, select them, and click Done.
- In the breakdown table below the charts, open More and choose Titles or Departments to group the results.
For example, filter to Creative and group by title to compare tracked hours across its roles. The table shows billable, non-billable, and total tracked hours for each group.
