We’re excited to introduce API Webhooks, a powerful new way to integrate Rize with your favorite tools and automate your time-tracking workflows.
Overview
With API Webhooks, you can:
- Automate Workflows – Send real-time Rize data to trigger actions in other apps.
- Seamless Integrations – Connect Rize with platforms like Zapier, Slack, Make, and more.
- Full Automation – Let Rize push time-tracking data where you need it, no manual updates required.
How It Works
Step 1: Create an Inbound Webhook
Webhooks allow you to send real-time data from Rize to other applications. To start, create an inbound webhook using a service like Zapier, Slack, Make, or any platform that supports webhooks.
- In Zapier, create a new Zap and choose "Webhook" as the trigger.
- In Slack, set up an incoming webhook to receive messages based on Rize data.
- In Make, configure a webhook module to process incoming data from Rize.
Step 2: Add Your Webhook to Rize
Once you've set up your inbound webhook, you'll need to register it in Rize:
- Navigate to Settings > API in your Rize account.
- Click on Add Webhook and enter the URL of your inbound webhook.
- Choose the events you want Rize to send data for.
Step 3: Select the Events to Monitor
Rize supports multiple event types that can trigger webhooks. These include:
- Session Started – Get notified when a new focus session begins.
- Session Ended – Receive updates when a session is completed.
- Category Assigned – Trigger an action when an app or website is categorized.
- Daily Summary Generated – Sync your time-tracking summary with other tools.
Step 4: Use the Data in External Applications
Once the webhook is active, Rize will send structured data to your webhook URL whenever the selected events occur. You can:
- Log time-tracking data in Notion or Google Sheets.
- Notify your team in Slack when a work session ends.
- Automate actions in Zapier, such as sending emails or updating records.
Webhooks give you full control over how you use your Rize data, making it easier to streamline and automate your productivity workflows.
