Rize v3.0.15 Update

June 30, 2026

Rize v3.0.15 is the first desktop release since v3.0.7 — and it's a big one. This update makes Rize dramatically lighter on your system, fixes the black screen issue on Windows, and squashes a handful of bugs that were causing the app to misbehave. More releases are coming this week.

Rize v3.0.15 Update

IMPROVEMENTS

Massive performance improvements

Rize was using far more CPU than it needed to. We found that the dashboard timers were refreshing 60 times per second — but since they only display minutes and seconds, once per second is plenty. This single change drops CPU usage from ~25% to ~1% when the dashboard is open. You'll notice cooler laptops, quieter fans, and longer battery life on both macOS and Windows.

Lower memory usage

The app was reading your settings from disk every time it needed them and reloading the window tracking module every 15 seconds. Both are now cached in memory so Rize runs lighter and responds faster.

Smaller app download

We cleaned up what ships inside the app package — removing development files, source maps, and unused code. The result is a smaller download and faster startup.

Better activity tracking for uncategorized apps

Apps that Rize hasn't categorized yet now have their window titles tracked. This means you'll see more useful detail in your timeline instead of just an app name with no context.

FIXES

  • Black screen on Windows — Some Windows users saw a blank black rectangle instead of the dashboard when opening Rize. This is now fixed.
  • Widget timer freezing — The floating timer widget could freeze or show the wrong time because it stopped updating when it wasn't in focus. The timer now stays accurate at all times.
  • Dashboard flickering on resize — Rapidly resizing the Rize window could cause the dashboard to flicker or glitch. Resize events are now handled cleanly.
  • Background data sync issues — In some cases, data updates would pile up in the background and never get cleaned up, slowly using more memory over time. Fixed.
  • Unexpected crashes on login changes — Certain account updates could cause Rize to crash if your login session had expired. The app now handles this gracefully.
  • App crashes on fresh install — A packaging issue could cause Rize to crash repeatedly right after installation. The app package now includes all required components.

WHAT'S NEXT

More desktop releases are coming this week. As always, let us know what you'd like to see — we read every piece of feedback.
