Timeboxing in Rize with Pinned Calendars

macgill davis · October 4, 2021

Changelog 0.8.16 - Learn how to timebox in Rize with our new Pinned Calendar feature.

Your pinned calendars will appear below your timeline in Rize.

With our new Pinned Calendar feature, it’s now easy to compare how you planned your day with how you actually spent your time. By pinning your calendar, it will appear below your timeline in Rize. You can hover over each event to see the title, time range, attendees, as well as description and meeting links when available.

Meeting events with 2+ attendees will be shaded pink, the same color as Meeting Sessions in Rize. Any event that has the word “Focus” or “Flow” in the title will be shaded teal just like Focus Sessions in Rize. All other events will be shaded gray. This makes it easy to quickly visually compare your planned day vs your real activity.

Pinned Calendar pairs extremely well with Timeboxing. Timeboxing is a simple and effective technique to make time for focus work and boost productivity. This works great services that block off focus time on your calendar such as Clockwise, Reclaim.ai, or Flow Club. You can now compare if your scheduled focus time aligns with how much focus time you were truly able to achieve.

You can pin as many calendars as you want in your Settings > Integrations.

We’ve enabled this feature for all your existing calendars. You can pin as many calendars as you want in your Settings > Integrations. If you want to remove a pinned calendar, just toggle the setting to disabled.

At Rize, we want to help you proactively improve the way you spend your time. We hope Pinned Calendar is a small step in that direction.

If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Thank you for your continued support of Rize.
